Mariah Carey “may be” headed to Curaçao

The news is still not officially confirmed, but from certain valuable sources have informed WENSHOW that everything indicates that the Queen with the Golden Voice may be headed to headline the Curaçao North Sea Jazz 2013 alongside with the confirmed acts of Marc Anthony, Toto, Paul Anka, Grammy-award winner percussionist Pernell Saturnino will perform in his home country Curaçao together with Miguel Zenón, jazz icon Sonny Rollins, from Africa, Oumou Sangaré, Erykah Badu, Gladys Knight, Edmar Castaneda, Kris Berry, Sabrina Starke, Sherry Dyanne, Kizzy McHugh, José James, Nothing less than Luis Miguel, The Roots, Raphael Saadiq, Los Lobos, Christian McBride Big Band, New Cool Collective and Esperanza Spalding Radio Music Society will be on the lineup for the fourth edition of the festival.

Mariah Carey is the best-selling female artist of all time with more than 200 million albums sold to date and eighteen Billboard #1 singles (seventeen self-penned), more than any solo artist in history. With her distinct five-octave vocal range, prolific songwriting, and producing talent, Carey has defined the modern pop performance. As a singer/songwriter/producer, she has been recognized with five Grammy Awards, nine American Music Awards, Billboard’s “Artist of the Decade” Award, the World Music Award for “World’s Best Selling Female Artist of the Millennium,” and BMI’s “Icon Award” to name a few.

Mariah is currently in the studio, writing, recording and executive-producing her next album for Island Def Jam Music Group with the lead single “Triumphant.”

Last year, the festival area was expanded by adding the beach and placing the Sir Duke stage there. This expansion proved to be a huge success, but it also became clear that enough space remained and which will now be filled with the smaller Etta James stage.

Currently the organisation is speaking with the management of various artists to complete the line up of Curacao North Sea Jazz. Also, the organization is working on the concerts that are spread across the island which will take place in the week prior to CNSJ. Of this program we already confirmed salsa orchestra El Gran Combo de Puerto Rico on Monday, August 26 at Brionplein.

After they announce the big fish, in which we most definitely can appoint into the direction of Mariah Carey, we will gladly inform everybody of another “SOLD OUT” Curaçao North Sea Jazz.

How to prepare for a Casting Call

How to prepare for a Casting Call

How to prepare for a Casting Call

1. Make sure you are groomed. Before you go to any model call, make sure your hair is freshly done, styled, cut, shaved, etc. Don’t think you will just get by on your good looks. There will be lots of good looking people at the model call. Gentlemen, make sure you are neatly shaven. If you are growing a beard, that’s fine but make sure it is nicely lined up and neat.

2. Wear clothes that flatter you. Wear clothes that BEST compliment your shape. If you are unsure, set up an appointment with a stylist and get some tips on how to dress your body type. If you can’t afford a stylist, get a fashionable friend to help you. Don’t be fooled into thinking that because you may be tall and thin, you can wear anything. Get some outside assistance to look your best.

3. Keep it simple. Your makeup, hairstyle or haircut and clothes MUST be simple and basic. Don’t overdo it. Don’t try to make yourself stand out by doing something crazy like wearing a lot of loud colors. You will stand out, but that may not be what the casting agent is looking for. They want to see you, not your outfit or makeup.

4. Be confident. You want to be a model so show it. Modeling is not an industry that applauds modesty. Don’t be intimidated by the beautiful people there. You’re beautiful too so show those casting agents what you have to offer!
