+ Tribute to the legacy of Nelson Mandela

Tribute to the legacy of Nelson Mandela, the former South African president who passed away on Dec. 5 at the age of 95.

Everyone has been impacted by Nelson Mandela in their own way, just as we just found on YouTube this beautiful tribute song made in Curaçao by the wonder musician ‘Toni’ Worrel.

It is titled “A gift and Inspiration of Jahweh God almighty” and was written and composed by Roy “Toni” Worrell, the music and arrangements done by Roy “Toni” Worrell and Brian van Lierop, the vocals by the Cross Over Gospel Choir.

The description regarding the song: “The lyrics to this song are a blessing for the South African people and their great leader Nelson Mandela who has just past. From the hearts of the people of Curaçao, we dedicate this song to you and our prayers go out to you, that his legacy shall remain in your hearts with the belief that all men should be equal and could live in harmony together as a people. Remember, your strength comes from above. Jehovah God Almighty. God Bless you all.”

+ Nelson Mandela, A remarkable man who inspired each inch in me to hope more, love more, do more, believe more and inspire more. A man of uncommon grace, Madiba’s unwavering courage, forgiveness and hope touched and inspired people all around the world.

The universe called a bright star, an amazing human being in Nelson Mandela. While he is gone, his message of love, tolerance, and understanding will live on in the millions of people that he inspired.

More than a hero, more than an ordinary man beyond an icon … Nelson Mandela, THANK YOU!

We are blessed to have lived in your time and be witnesses of your impact.

“No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin, or his background, or his religion. People must learn to hate, and if they can learn to hate, they can be taught to love, for love comes more naturally to the human heart than its opposite.”
— Nelson Mandela

Tula. The Revolt Official Poster and Trailer

A breathtaking story told through the eyes of a nation craving for empowerment.

The film Tula. The Revolt was shot last year in Curacao at actual locations where the real uprising occurred, giving an authenticity to it, which was important to the filmmakers.

The production budget of the film was about $3.5 million. The premiere of the film is planned in the Netherlands upcoming summer July 2013.

Tula (executed October 3, 1795) was a slave on Curaçao and a leader of a 1795 slave revolt that convulsed the island for more than a month. He is revered on Curaçao today as a fighter for human rights and independence.

‘Tula, The Revolt’ is an international English spoken feature length movie about the leader of the big slave uprising on the island of Curacao, a Dutch colony in 1795. ‘Tula The Revolt’ tells the true story of a man who dared to stand up against his oppressors leading his people in a peaceful march for freedom, equality and brotherhood.

An action movie, but at the same time a character movie, giving the audience the insights of a reluctant leader, his hopes, his fears, his values, his love, his faith, but also his inevitable destiny.

Danny Glover leads a pack of international actors that also includes Obi Abili, Jeroen Krabbé,Derek de Lint, Henriette Tol and Barry Hay.

Obi Abili (a UK actor of Nigerian decent) stars in the film as the titular Tula, while Glover plays Shinishi, the elder of the group and actress Natalie Simpson will play Speranza, Tula’s love interest.

The screenplay of the film was written by Curtis Holt Hawkins and is based on the book Tula: Lost Freedom, a painstakingly researched historical novel written by Jeroen Leinders.

Guy Farley composed the score and Dolph van Stapele is the director of photography and also produced the film with Jeroen Leinders for the company FishEye Feature Films.

Tula, The Revolt was co-produced by Inspire Pictures and the film will be distributed by Benelux Film Distributors.
