Want to express sympathy for the physical loss of a former Prime Minister of the Netherlands Antilles, sir Miguel Arcangel Pourier.. my thoughts are with all who knew someone who had such courage to carry our islands through the period he did, and advocated his beliefs till the last moments he shared with his nations ..

An example of a true Dutch Caribbean, had pleasure to meet him a few times, and he was a very simple, humble, educated and chilled person.. His good examples should serve for all of us who still remember what he went through as head of state for our now countries..

“For us who where young experiencing his legacy, he was active in the movement that advocated preservation and ‘restructuring’ of the Netherlands Antilles. He sat against the corruption and mismanagement of the existing policy during his time. Sir Pourier saw himself as prime minister by years of mismanagement and poor economic situation facing serious financial problems. Necessary massive cuts exceeded his term, and increased unemployment and mixed feelings among the population. He had a rough term but helped the islands get through after all. After some political decisions and developments Sir Pourier felt personally betrayed and thus decided after the 2002 elections to pass over the political steps. But still he remained for many in the advisory seat, as a Political Father. ”

Very surprised to hear of the recent loss and would like to express sincere condolences to his family, friends, political party and all fellows of the Dutch Kingdom..
