#HabemusPapam “We have a new pope!’’

The cheer rang out loud and clear from the big crowd at the St. Peter’s Square after white smoke emitted from the chimney of the Sistine Chapel where the conclave to elect a new pope was convened starting on Tuesday.

A total of 115 cardinals aged 80 and under participated in the conclave to elect the successor to Benedict XVI, who resigned as pope effective on February 28 citing health reasons.
