Last year Grupo Bandeirantes has signed a contract with Donald Trump and NBC Universal to give a new impulse to beauty contests in Brazil. The got now the control of 27 regional competitions towards the beauty ambassador of Brazil in the Miss Universe.
Gabriela Markus, Miss Universe Rio Grande do Sul 2012, was crowned Miss Universe Brazil 2012 on September 29, 2012. Gabriela Markus is 23 year old and stands 1.80 m. She will represent Brazil in the upcoming Miss Universe2012 Pageant to be held in Las Vegas on December 19, 2012.
Last year winner, Priscila Machado, was also from Rio Grande do Sul. Priscila Machado was the second runner-up of Miss Universe 2011 Pageant, which was held in Brazil.
Kelly Fonseca, Miss Rio Grande do Norte, was the 1st runner-up, and Miss Minas Gerais, Thiéssia Sickert, was the 2nd runner-up. Tamiris Rodrigues (Distrito Federal) and Francine Pantaleao (Sao Paulo) completed the Top 5.
Ceara and Santa Catalina were among the Top 7 finalists. The pageant happened in Fortaleza, Ceara.
